Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture

Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture was produced by Sunrise as a four-part ONA series, acting as a direct continuation of the expansive Code Geass universe established in 2006. Set years after the events of the original Lelouch of the Rebellion series, the narrative shifts focus to two mercenary brothers, Ash and Rozé, operating in a world still defined by the geopolitical tensions and mecha-warfare inherent to the franchise. The project was conceived to revitalize the property for a modern audience while maintaining the series' trademark blend of tactical intrigue and high-stakes rebellion.

The series represents a distinct visual evolution for the franchise, featuring character designs by CLAMP and animation direction that leans into contemporary aesthetics while honoring the iconic silhouette work of earlier entries. Upon its 2024 release, the production was noted for its commitment to the series' thematic roots, balancing the heavy political commentary that defined the original saga with fresh character dynamics and updated mechanical designs that were well-received by fans of the long-standing saga.
