Code Geass: Oz the Reflection Picture Drama

The Code Geass: Oz the Reflection Picture Drama was produced by Sunrise in 2013 as a supplementary visual component to the Oz the Reflection manga series. It served as a narrative bridge designed to expand the lore of the Code Geass universe by exploring the events occurring between the original anime seasons. The format utilizes static imagery accompanied by voice acting, a traditional Japanese approach to low-budget animation meant to prioritize character dialogue and story depth over fluid motion.

The project was overseen by key staff involved in the broader Code Geass franchise to maintain stylistic consistency with the mainline series. The character designs were intended to capture the sharp, stylized aesthetic established by CLAMP, while the story focused on providing a nuanced perspective from the viewpoint of characters outside the core cast of Lelouch and Suzaku. It was received primarily by dedicated fans of the franchise as a niche expansion of the expansive, complex political landscape of the setting.
