Yuu and Saya are two of the top Cosmic Hunters in the galaxy, and Yuu is enjoying a bit of fame after his most recent adventure. The two are on a date when they are interrupted from a distress signal from their "ally", the feline pervert Nyan. In the meantime, the space pirate Belga begins attacking space freighters in an attempt to lure out Yuu, so she can take him to bed with her. Of course, when he spurns her, she decides that if she can't have him, then no one can.

Where it came from
Cosmic Fantasy was released as an original video animation in 1994, serving as a spin-off to the popular Cosmic Fantasy role-playing game series developed by Telenet Japan. The project was designed to capitalize on the success of the game franchise, which had gained a following for its blend of traditional fantasy tropes and science fiction elements, and was intended to provide a narrative expansion for fans of the game's colorful character designs.
The animation was produced by the studio Anime International Company, with character designs intended to mimic the distinct, vibrant style seen in the original game series. While the franchise itself held a notable place in the early 1990s Japanese console gaming scene, the OVA was received as a niche production, largely serving as a supplementary visual experience for those already invested in the game's lore rather than as a standalone work for a broader audience.
