Where it came from
Released in 2010, Crayon Shin-chan: Chou Jikuu! Arashi wo Yobu Ora no Hanayome—often translated as Super-Dimension! The Storm Called My Bride—is the eighteenth feature film in the long-running Crayon Shin-chan franchise. It was produced by Shin-Ei Animation and distributed by Toho, continuing the tradition of ambitious, high-concept theatrical entries that expand the domestic settings of the original manga into grand, genre-bending adventures.
The film was directed by Akira Shigino, who aimed to explore a comedic yet poignant vision of the characters' futures by introducing an adult version of the protagonist, Shinnosuke, and his fiancée, Tamiko. The narrative plays with time travel tropes to contrast the mischievous spirit of the young Shinnosuke with the weight of adulthood, a stylistic choice that was generally praised by fans for balancing the series' signature irreverent humor with an unusually reflective and sentimental tone.
