Crayon Shin-chan: Densetsu wo Yobu Odore! Amigo!

Released in 2006, Crayon Shin-chan: Densetsu wo Yobu Odore! Amigo! serves as the fourteenth feature film in the long-running anime franchise created by Yoshito Usui. The film was produced by Shin-Ei Animation and distributed by Toho, continuing the series' tradition of blending domestic family comedy with increasingly surreal and adventurous narrative stakes. Directed by Yuji Muto, who had helmed several previous entries, the movie was conceived during a period when the franchise was actively expanding its cinematic scope beyond the television series' episodic format.

The film's narrative centers on a comedic body-snatcher plot involving sentient samba-dancing clones, a departure from the more grounded or high-fantasy themes seen in earlier films. The design and tonal shift were reflective of the series' willingness to embrace bizarre, experimental storytelling that appealed to both children and the adult fans who had grown up with Shin-chan. Upon its release, it was received as a solid entry in the series, recognized for its frantic energy and the creative animation sequences that brought the intense dance battles to life.
