Where it came from
Crayon Shin-chan: Kikikaikai! Ora no Youkai Vacation is the 32nd feature film in the long-running Crayon Shin-chan franchise, produced by Shin-Ei Animation. Released in 2026, the film continues the series' tradition of blending irreverent comedy with fantastical adventure, a hallmark of the animation style established by creator Yoshito Usui in his original 1990 manga.
The production follows the established creative trajectory of recent annual installments, which often place the Nohara family in high-concept, supernatural settings to explore themes of family resilience. Designed to appeal to both long-time adult fans of the franchise's subversive humor and younger audiences, the movie builds on decades of character development while updating the series' visual aesthetic to suit contemporary animation standards.
