Kazama Kenji likes to believe he is something of a delinquent. Moreover, others seem to like to agree that he is. Of course, Kenji's gang finds their way to a group of four not-so-normal girls—Chitose, Sakura, Minami and Roka—and all at once, whatever reputation he may have is nothing compared to the outrageous behavior of the girls. Shanghaied into joining their club, what will happen to his everyday life from that point on?

Where it came from
D-Frag! was produced by Brain's Base and released in early 2014, adapting the long-running manga series by Tomoya Haruno. The production sought to capture the high-energy, surreal comedy of the original source material, which centers on a delinquent student forced to join his school's 'Game Creation Club.' The studio utilized a vibrant, fast-paced animation style to mirror the manga's gag-heavy storytelling, focusing on the eccentric chemistry between the club's members.
The series was directed by Seiki Sugawara, who leaned into the absurdity of the premise to create a slapstick atmosphere. Upon release, it was well-received by audiences for its comedic timing and the character-driven interactions, standing out as a notable entry in the slice-of-life comedy genre during the 2014 winter season. Its design choices, particularly the exaggerated reactions of the lead characters, remain a signature aspect of the show's identity.
