The anime talks about a little boy, Randy, whose dog, Chacha, died in an accident and was reincarnated into a living toy car. Each episode is told like the chapter of a storybook, where Randy learns a valuable thing in life with his cartoonish and goofy friend Chacha. Randy meets several friends in his neighbourhood, such as Catherine, the tall blonde girl in red long socks who rides a bicycle, or Mary, a little hot-tempered brunette girl dressed as a maid and who carries around a mop.

Where it came from
Daisuki! BuBu ChaCha was produced by the Japanese animation studio Amino and aired in 2001 as a successor to the original 1999 series, BuBu ChaCha. The show centers on the whimsical adventures of a young boy named Bo and his beloved dog, ChaCha, who has been transformed into a tricycle following a traffic accident. The series is celebrated for its gentle, surreal storytelling and its uniquely stylized aesthetic that blends heartwarming family dynamics with imaginative, colorful sequences.
The animation style is characterized by a soft, rounded aesthetic that emphasizes the show's focus on innocence and recovery. The production team utilized a bright, primary-color palette intended to appeal to a younger demographic while maintaining a visual language that felt both retro and distinct from the more intense action-oriented anime prevalent at the time. It is widely viewed by animation historians as a quintessential example of early 2000s Japanese children's television that successfully balanced sentimental themes with creative visual design.
