Where it came from
Dang Shen Bu Rang, titled in English as Dear Parents, is an original net animation produced by the Chinese streaming platform iQIYI. It emerged during a period of rapid expansion for the platform’s animation wing, which sought to diversify its offerings by tapping into the growing domestic appetite for high-quality, character-driven storytelling that resonates with modern Chinese audiences.
The production reflects the studio's commitment to clean, contemporary digital aesthetics and structured episodic narrative design. As a proprietary ONA, the series was developed to strengthen iQIYI’s library of exclusive content, aiming to foster viewer retention through relatable themes. It was received as a stable entry within the platform’s animation catalog, showcasing the standard production values and aesthetic direction typical of iQIYI’s mid-tier animated projects.
