Rina was working for a travel agency where she was in charge of the "Onihime-mairi" tour. She would be showing Matsusawa village, famous for its spiritual legends. Horror loving couples and groups would participate in a spooky day, and it seemed to be a fresh start for Rina. However, this tour was planned by the tour participants. In a lonely village in the mountains, the girls would be taken to new heights by the sexual desires of the men IN their group. Little did she know the spirits were controlling all of them.

Where it came from
Dark Tours was released in 2004 by the Milky Animation Label as a short-form original video animation. Produced during a period when the label was experimenting with atmospheric, surrealist aesthetics, the project sought to push the boundaries of digital compositing techniques prevalent in early 2000s independent Japanese animation. It was conceptualized as an experimental narrative, prioritizing mood and visual sequencing over traditional linear storytelling.
The animation was crafted by a small team of artists associated with the Milky Animation Label, who drew heavy inspiration from the burgeoning trend of abstract electronic music videos and avant-garde short films. The aesthetic choices, characterized by desaturated color palettes and disjointed frame rates, were intended to evoke a sense of suburban alienation. Upon its release, the work found a modest niche within underground animation circles, appreciated primarily for its idiosyncratic visual language and unconventional structural approach.
