Where it came from
Dawn of the World was produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures as a flagship ONA (Original Net Animation) project. It emerged during a period of rapid expansion for Chinese animation, reflecting the studio's broader initiative to adapt high-fantasy web literature into high-fidelity 3D CGI series to capture both domestic and international streaming audiences.
The production leans into the aesthetic trends of contemporary Chinese fantasy animation, characterized by meticulous character modeling and expansive, lore-heavy world-building. Designed to compete with major studio output, the series utilizes motion capture technology to provide a cinematic sense of movement, receiving attention from viewers for its visual polish and commitment to traditional xianxia-inspired narrative structures.
