Death March Kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku (Zoku-hen)

Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody, or Death March Kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku, originated as a light novel series written by Hiro Ainana and illustrated by shri. First appearing on the web novel platform Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2013, the story follows a thirty-year-old programmer who is transported into a game world he was helping develop. The television anime adaptation of the series, produced by studios Silver Link and Connect, premiered in 2018. It was directed by Shin Oonuma, who sought to capture the series' focus on world-building and the protagonist's attempts at a peaceful life amidst high-stakes fantasy elements.

The reception of the anime adaptation was generally moderate, with viewers often noting its adherence to the 'isekai' subgenre tropes that became popular during the mid-2010s. The production design aimed for a vibrant, digital-game aesthetic to reflect the protagonist's perspective as a developer interacting with the game's systems. While the series is often discussed in the context of the saturated light novel adaptation market, it maintains a dedicated following among fans of the slow-paced fantasy lifestyle genre.
