Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole

Dekin no Mogura, or The Earthbound Mole, is a 2025 television series produced by Brain's Base based on the manga series by Natsumi Inoue. The narrative centers on a protagonist who finds himself living a life of isolation as a modern-day hermit, grappling with the complexities of human connection and the weight of his own detachment from society. The project emerged as a notable addition to the studio's portfolio, aiming to translate the nuanced, character-driven storytelling of the source material into a visual medium.

The adaptation focuses on capturing the melancholic yet observant tone of Inoue's original work. The design team at Brain's Base sought to emphasize the atmospheric qualities of the protagonist's environment, using visual pacing to mirror his internal state. Upon its release, the series was noted for its restrained approach to thematic exploration, offering a quiet counterpoint to the more action-oriented titles often associated with the studio's broader production history.
