Where it came from
Delinquent Hamsters Season 2 was released in 2019 by Piso Studio as a continuation of their short-form ONA series. The project emerged from the studio's interest in blending stylized, minimalist animation with deadpan humor, a format that had gained traction on digital platforms during the late 2010s as a way to provide quick, accessible entertainment for online audiences.
The character design and visual direction were crafted to emphasize expressive, chaotic personalities within simple, rounded forms, allowing for fluid comedic timing. Upon its release, the second season was received as a natural evolution of the series' established aesthetic, maintaining the cult appeal of the original while expanding the world of the titular characters to explore more absurd scenarios.
