Dennou Sentai Voogie's★Angel Gaiden: Susume! Super★Angels!

Dennou Sentai Voogie's★Angel Gaiden: Susume! Super★Angels! was released in 1998 as a spin-off to the original Dennou Sentai Voogie's Angel series, produced by Studio Front Line. It emerged during a period in the late 1990s when multi-media franchises, blending anime, voice acting, and idol culture, were rapidly expanding in Japan. This particular installment was designed to capitalize on the cult interest surrounding the Voogie's Angel universe by shifting the tone toward a more lighthearted, comedic adventure.

The production sought to highlight the vocal performances of the primary cast, who were marketed as a real-world idol group to complement the animated characters. Visually, the OVA maintains the aesthetic typical of late-90s direct-to-video animation, characterized by bold, colorful designs meant to emphasize the energetic personalities of the titular angels. While the series remained a niche product, it is documented as a clear example of the era's promotional strategies involving cross-platform character media.
