Where it came from
Din Dong was created by the Hong Kong-based Postgal Workshop, emerging from a creative milieu focused on blending localized urban culture with character design. Launched to resonate with fans of contemporary illustration, the character was conceptualized to embody a sense of playful, everyday charm, often presented in scenarios that reflect the specific social and rhythmic atmosphere of life in Hong Kong.
The visual identity of the character relies on clean lines and a distinct, minimalist aesthetic that allows for versatile application across various collectible formats. Postgal Workshop maintained a focus on high-quality production, ensuring that the physical renditions of Din Dong stayed true to the expressive, lighthearted sketches that defined the brand's early appeal among enthusiasts of regional character design.
