Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation

Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation was officially announced for a 2025 release as an original net animation, serving as the long-awaited screen adaptation of the popular mobile game developed by Aniplex and Walt Disney Japan. The series aims to bring the dark, academic aesthetic of the Night Raven College campus to life, building upon the original character designs created by Yana Toboso, the celebrated manga artist best known for Black Butler. The adaptation is intended to capture the gothic, fashion-forward sensibilities that defined the game's initial launch.

The production process has been closely watched by the franchise's dedicated fan base, particularly because of the involvement of Walt Disney Studios in translating the game's complex character dynamics into a serialized narrative format. By expanding the lore of the twisted magical world, the animation serves to broaden the appeal of the franchise beyond the constraints of the original gacha game mechanics. Early reception has focused on the visual fidelity of the animation style, which aims to mirror Toboso’s distinct, illustrative flair while maintaining a fluid, high-quality standard for the platform release.
