Doraemon: Nobita no Himitsu Dougu Museum

Doraemon: Nobita no Himitsu Dougu Museum, released in 2013, serves as the thirty-third entry in the long-running Doraemon theatrical film series. Produced by Shin-Ei Animation and distributed by Toho, the film was developed to commemorate the franchise's enduring legacy while exploring the history of Doraemon’s iconic secret gadgets. Directed by Yukiyo Teramoto, the narrative centers on a futuristic museum dedicated to the tools that have defined the series for decades, providing a meta-fictional look at the lore established by creators Fujiko F. Fujio.

The design of the museum and the film's aesthetic leaned into a whimsical, high-tech vision of the future that contrasted with the classic suburban setting of Nobita’s life. Critics and long-time fans received the film as a heartfelt homage to the series' history, particularly noting the focus on the ingenuity behind the gadgets themselves. The film performed well in the Japanese box office, consistent with the annual success of the Doraemon movie franchise, and cemented its place as a cornerstone of the 2010s era of the character's cinematic evolution.
