Dorohedoro Season 2

Dorohedoro Season 2 is the long-awaited continuation of the anime adaptation based on Q Hayashida’s cult classic manga series. Following the conclusion of the first season produced by MAPPA in 2020, fans faced years of uncertainty regarding the franchise's return. The series is set in the grim, gritty, and surreal industrial sprawl of the Hole, a world defined by its dark humor, visceral action, and distinct aesthetic that balances grotesque horror with quirky character dynamics.

The 2026 production, released as an ONA, sees MAPPA returning to the source material to resolve the complex narrative threads left hanging in the initial run. The design language continues to prioritize Hayashida's gritty, hand-drawn-inspired texture, aiming to maintain the jagged, high-contrast visual identity that defined the manga’s appeal. By transitioning to an ONA format, the production reflects modern shifts in distribution, moving away from traditional terrestrial broadcasting to meet the global audience's preference for streaming platforms.
