Douluo Dalu: Qi Qing Kaoyan

Douluo Dalu: Qi Qing Kaoyan, also known as Soul Land: Seven Devils Test, was released in 2022 by Sparkly Key Animation as a specialized spin-off within the expansive Soul Land multimedia franchise. This project was developed to deepen the character arcs of the Shrek Seven Devils, focusing on the rigorous trials they undergo to advance their spiritual and physical capabilities. It emerged from the immense popularity of the long-running Soul Land 3D animated series, serving as a narrative bridge that maintains the aesthetic and technical standards of its parent production.

The production relies on the high-fidelity 3D modeling and motion capture techniques that define Sparkly Key Animation's work, prioritizing fluid combat choreography and expressive facial animation to reflect the intense emotional stakes of the series. The aesthetic direction aims to modernize traditional xianxia motifs through a distinct cyberpunk-adjacent fantasy lens. Upon release, it was received as a faithful expansion of Tang Jia San Shao’s original web novel source material, well-regarded by the existing fanbase for its commitment to character development and visual spectacle.
