Where it came from
The Data_xx_Transitory OVA was released in 2015 as a bonus installment for the DRAMAtical Murder anime series. Produced by studio NAZ, it serves as an epilogue to the original television adaptation, providing a brief, fan-focused narrative continuation that explores the characters' lives after the conclusion of the main plot. It was crafted specifically to satisfy audience interest in the 'bad ends' and alternative scenarios found in the original visual novel.
The visual direction for the OVA maintains the stylized, neon-drenched aesthetic established by Nitro+chiral's source material and the 2014 series. The production aimed to condense the complex, dystopian themes of the game into a compact format, focusing on the psychic connections and digital landscapes central to the franchise. While the series as a whole polarized critics due to the challenges of adapting mature visual novel content, this specific OVA remains a notable completionist piece for fans of the franchise's unique cyberpunk art direction.
