Minami joins her High School baseball team as a team manager after finding out that her best friend Yuuki is in the hospital and can't be a team manager any more. In order to try to fill in for Yuuki and to help out the team the best she can, she goes out to find a book on how to manage a baseball team.
Unfortunately, she accidentally buys Peter Drucker's book called "Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices" which is actually about how to properly manage a business. Because she couldn't return the book, she decides to read it anyway and to try to apply the business management concepts to the baseball team so that way they can go on and win the Nationals.

Where it came from
Drucker in the Dugout, released as Moshidora in Japan, is a 2011 television anime series produced by Production I.G. Based on the massive best-selling novel by Natsumi Iwasaki, the series follows Minami Kawashima, a high school student who takes over as manager of her school's struggling baseball team by applying the management principles of Peter Drucker's 1973 business book, Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices.
The adaptation was directed by Takayuki Hamana and aimed to blend the tropes of a sports drama with the unconventional premise of corporate leadership theory. The series was developed as a cultural crossover, bridging the gap between casual manga readers and fans of business self-help literature. Upon its release, it was noted for its earnest attempt to make organizational strategy accessible through the lens of high school extracurricular activities, receiving moderate interest for its unique thematic departure from standard sports anime fare.
