Eclipse of Illusion

Eclipse of Illusion was produced by Youku as part of its expanding initiative to dominate the Chinese animation market through high-fidelity original net animation (ONA) content. Released in the early 2020s, the series was designed to showcase the platform's technical capabilities in 3D character modeling and fluid action sequences, aiming to capture the growing demographic of viewers who prefer sophisticated, long-form digital storytelling over traditional broadcast formats.

The production utilized a distinct aesthetic approach intended to blend traditional Chinese fantasy motifs with modern digital cinematic techniques. By focusing on intricate motion capture and dramatic lighting, the creators sought to elevate the perceived quality of web-based animation. Upon its debut, the series was received as a technically ambitious entry that highlighted the studio's shift toward creating vertically integrated intellectual property for its subscription base.
