This episode takes place within episode 11 as Nana attempts to fit in the household while trying to find a chore that she can do and get used to Nyu's presence whom she only knows as Lucy. Running away after getting scolded, Nana ends up in the beach and meets Bando whom she promised to bring Lucy to later that night. Leaving the household with Nyu, it begins to rain and Nyu slips, hits her head, and is knocked unconscious. As Bando waits and everyone else worries where they might be, Nana, with an uncoscious Nyu, takes shelter as Lucy's consciousness begins to come out and dreams an old memory of how she was captured and why she doesn't attack Director Kurama. As the rain begins to let up, Kouta and the others find Nana and Lucy and takes them home. There, Nana finally finds the chore that she will be doing - feeding the dog.

Where it came from
Released by VAP in 2005, this OVA serves as a bridge between the eleventh and twelfth episodes of the Elfen Lied anime series. It was produced to flesh out the emotional landscape of the protagonist, Lucy, and to provide additional context regarding the internal conflicts of the Diclonius during the events of the main narrative arc. The release was a strategic effort to satisfy fans of the original manga who sought a deeper look into the character dynamics established in the television adaptation.
The visual direction and character design were guided by the aesthetic established in the 2004 anime series, prioritizing the juxtaposition of extreme violence with delicate, melancholic character moments. The production aimed to lean heavily into the psychological depth of the source material, which was originally illustrated by Lynn Okamoto. While the series as a whole polarized critics due to its intense graphic content, this OVA is often noted by the franchise's dedicated audience for its commitment to the bleak, contemplative tone that defines the Elfen Lied experience.
