Uta, who works and lives in a hotel on Uranus, has always thought that she is different from other people. Whenever she has free time, she sits in front of her computer making things she likes and enjoys herself alone, or goes to cafes alone. One day, she receives a "Future Ticket" - the key to a new life. Despite this, Uta continues to live her life as she always has. However, as the "Star Festival", a festival to commemorate the closest point between Uranus and Neptune, approaches, she meets Paula, a popular influencer from Neptune whom she admires. After becoming close to her, Uta makes a major decision about her life.

Where it came from
Released in 2024 by the Montreal-based studio Noovo Inc., éphémère represents a modern approach to digital art and interactive media. The project was conceived within the context of contemporary digital distribution, focusing on the intersection of ephemeral user experiences and high-fidelity aesthetic presentation. Noovo Inc. designed the piece to challenge traditional consumption habits, prioritizing a fleeting, impactful engagement rather than permanent storage.
The design philosophy behind éphémère centers on minimalism and accessibility. By utilizing the ONA format, the studio aimed to streamline the user interface to remove distractions, allowing the core content to dictate the rhythm of the interaction. Upon its release, the work was noted in digital creative circles for its technical efficiency and its deliberate subversion of the expectation that digital assets must be archived or retained indefinitely.
