Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia

Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia was produced by studio CloverWorks and premiered in 2019 as a direct adaptation of the seventh chapter of the mobile role-playing game Fate/Grand Order. The production was conceived to translate the game's high-stakes narrative—which centers on the journey to the ancient city of Uruk—into a serialized television format. It was a significant undertaking for the studio, aiming to replicate the massive scale of the game's encounter with the gods and historical figures of Mesopotamian mythology.

The series was directed by Toshifumi Akai, who sought to emphasize dynamic action sequences and cinematic pacing to differentiate the work from standard game-to-anime adaptations. The character designs, handled by Tomoaki Takase, were developed to maintain fidelity to the game's established aesthetic while allowing for more fluid animation during the series' frequent battle sequences. Upon its release, the adaptation was largely received as a technical achievement in visual storytelling, praised for its ambition in adapting one of the most popular story arcs within the Fate franchise.
