Fate/strange Fake (Zoku-hen)

Fate/strange Fake began as an April Fools' Day project by Ryohgo Narita in 2008, written as a short story titled Fake/states night. Due to significant fan interest, it was expanded into a light novel series illustrated by Shizuki Morii, set within the broader Type-Moon multiverse. The narrative departs from typical iterations of the Grail War by relocating the conflict to Snowfield, USA, and featuring a highly unusual summoning ritual that results in unique, fractured manifestations of heroic spirits.

The television adaptation, produced by Aniplex and animated by A-1 Pictures, was long anticipated following the release of a high-quality promotional short film in 2019. The series aims to capture Narita's chaotic, ensemble-driven storytelling style while maintaining the visual fidelity expected of the modern Fate franchise. It has been received as a faithful expansion of the source material, celebrated for its complex character dynamics and its departure from the traditional masters-and-servants tropes established in the original Fate/stay night.
