Princess Diana runs away from an arranged marraige and straight into the arms of slave traders who capture her and she is forced to become a slave. She finds her long lost childhood friend/love there, who happens to be the sworn enemy of her families throne, and becomes his, but of course with the family wanting her back all is not ideal.

Where it came from
Fencer of Minerva was produced by J.C.Staff and released as a three-part original video animation series in 1994. The project emerged during a period in the mid-1990s when Japanese animation studios frequently adapted fantasy manga and light novels for the direct-to-video market. It serves as an adaptation of the manga by Shinichi Hiromoto, who provided the source material for this dark, supernatural-themed narrative.
The animation design reflects the gritty, aesthetic sensibilities common in mid-90s seinen anime, focusing on stylized action sequences and gothic atmosphere. While the series did not achieve mainstream crossover success, it is remembered by enthusiasts of the era for its distinct character designs and its commitment to the sword-and-sorcery genre, which was a staple of the J.C.Staff catalog as the studio established its reputation for versatile production.
