Shun is the only male teacher at Kyoukasen Girls’ School, a well-known high class school also known as the “Water School” since it is situated in a forest and there is a lake on the school grounds. It is a place to heal the wounds of those girls who are hurt. He meets girls who shut off themselves from the world, those who don’t have confidence in themselves, those who are still traumatized by their past. He decides to help them move forward with their lives.

Where it came from
Floating Material is an original video animation released in 2011 by the studio PoRO, an entity primarily known within the adult animation industry for its distinct visual style and niche thematic explorations. Produced during a period of transition for independent studios operating on the periphery of the mainstream market, this title served as a representative work of the studio's technical approach to movement and composition, prioritizing atmosphere and character-focused narratives over traditional action-oriented storytelling.
The design of the work reflects the studio's long-standing commitment to a specific aesthetic language, emphasizing high-contrast lighting and fluid animation sequences that aim to evoke a sense of immersion. While critical reception within the broader animation community remained confined to its specific genre audience, the title is recognized by collectors as a technical benchmark for the studio's output during the early 2010s, illustrating their efforts to refine their signature visual aesthetic in a short-form format.
