Where it came from
Follow is a short film produced within the academic environment of Tama Art University, an institution renowned for fostering experimental animation and visual arts in Japan. Created as a student project, the film emerged from a curriculum that encourages students to push the boundaries of traditional narrative, often prioritizing atmospheric storytelling and stylized aesthetic choices over commercial conventions.
The film reflects the distinct pedagogical focus of the university, where creators are often tasked with exploring complex human themes through minimalist technical execution. While the specific director and team operate as emerging artists, the piece is recognized for its contribution to the university's annual showcase, serving as a testament to the rigorous, craft-oriented development process practiced by the institution's animation department.
