Yuuki Hiroshi has just picked up Kiwame Quest, the realest VRMMO ever made. But this RPG is TOO lifelike; he can smell, taste, feel, and when he's hurt in it, his physical body is hurt too. Even worse, his abilities in this adventure suck as much as they do in daily life. This was supposed to be immersion, not reality. Consumed with winning, he swears he'll conquer this game—even if it kills him!

Where it came from
Full Dive: This Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life! originated as a Japanese light novel series written by Light Tuchihi and illustrated by Youta. It was adapted into a television anime series by studio ENGI, premiering in 2021. The narrative serves as a satirical take on the isekai genre, subverting the fantasy power-fantasy trope by focusing on a protagonist trapped in a hyper-realistic VRMMO that mimics the frustrations, physical limitations, and moral dilemmas of actual human existence.
The production by studio ENGI focused on capturing the comedic yet cynical tone of the source material. By contrasting the high-fidelity technology of the 'Kiwame Quest' game with the protagonist's recurring failures and the mundane cruelty of its NPCs, the series explores themes of escapism and digital disillusionment. The design and direction aimed to lean into the absurdity of the game's difficulty, emphasizing the protagonist's struggle to navigate a world that is intentionally designed to be as inconvenient and unforgiving as reality itself.
