Ganbare Goemon: Jigen Jou no Akumu

Released in 1993, Ganbare Goemon: Jigen Jou no Akumu was produced by AIC as an original video animation based on Konami's popular Ganbare Goemon video game series. The project emerged during a period when Japanese game developers frequently commissioned anime adaptations to expand the narrative scope of their franchises for home video audiences. By translating the whimsical, Edo-period fantasy aesthetic of the games into an animated format, the studio aimed to capture the quirky humor and supernatural action that defined the series.

The animation design sought to mirror the vibrant, stylized character models found in the Super Famicom era of the games.
