A day and a collector's stroll. He goes out from his apartment for a stroll in the park. He walks and sees things in the park unintentionally and these are gathered in his mind one after another.A man reading a newspaper, a kangaroo statue, little flowers blooming in the grass…Those things change their shape and are trimmed, and they stay in the corner of his mind.We see things consciously and unconsciously everyday. How do we memorize things in an ordinary life?

Where it came from
Gathering originated from the Geidai Animation program at Tokyo University of the Arts, a prestigious incubator for experimental Japanese animation. Produced as a graduate project, the film emerged during a period when the program was gaining international recognition for fostering highly stylized, auteur-driven storytelling that often departed from traditional commercial anime conventions.
The film is celebrated for its precise aesthetic language, reflecting the rigorous technical training and artistic exploration encouraged by the faculty at Geidai. It was crafted as a demonstration of narrative economy and visual composition, receiving positive critical attention within festival circuits for its evocative atmosphere and the maturity of its directorial vision.
