ghost – end of night

Ghost: End of Night was produced by the acclaimed studio Madhouse and released in 2027 as a feature-length film. The project emerged from a period of intense experimentation within the studio, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional cel-style aesthetics and modern, highly fluid digital animation. It was conceived as a darker, atmospheric departure from the studio's more action-oriented titles of the mid-2020s, focusing heavily on psychological tension and minimalist art design.

The film's visual identity was spearheaded by a team of veteran illustrators who sought to evoke the moody, monochromatic palettes of classic suspense cinema. By prioritizing stark lighting contrasts and unconventional framing, the designers intended to immerse the audience in a disorienting, dreamlike environment. Upon its release, the film was noted by critics for its bold stylistic choices, with many praising the dedication to a singular, cohesive aesthetic vision that challenged contemporary industry norms for theatrical anime.
