The anime follows Tsukasa, whose dream is to become the best at Gigant Shooter (battles in a game similar to pog) in the world. The menko card his father left for him called King Menger is his partner. Tsukasa's fellow gamers are the cute but tsundere Koide Miruko, the spectacled bully Numata Manabu, and the realist and sharp-tongued Doumoto Ataru.

Where it came from
Gigant Big-Shot Tsukasa emerged in 2014 as a distinctive project from Fanworks, a studio known for its experimental approach to short-form and web-based animation. The series was developed during a period when Japanese digital studios were increasingly exploring the boundaries between traditional cel-style aesthetics and modern, rapid-fire digital production techniques.
The series centers on the titular character, Tsukasa, utilizing a sharp, minimalist visual language that prioritizes kinetic energy and comedic timing over complex character rendering. By stripping back extraneous detail, the designers aimed to heighten the absurdity of the show's scenarios, resulting in a reception that highlighted its niche appeal among audiences who favored stylized, avant-garde storytelling over mainstream tropes.
