GJ-bu@

GJ-bu@ is a special disc release associated with the GJ Club (GJ-bu) anime series, which was produced by the studio Doga Kobo and distributed by VAP. The series is based on a light novel franchise by Shin Araki, centering on the lighthearted and often eccentric daily activities of the members of the GJ Club. Released in 2014, this special entry served as an expansion of the anime's universe following the conclusion of its primary television run, intended to provide fans with additional content featuring the club's distinctive characters.

The production sought to maintain the whimsical, low-stakes aesthetic that defined the original series, emphasizing character-driven comedy and casual dialogue. As a special format release, it functions as a supplemental piece of media, catering to the established audience that grew fond of the light novels' slice-of-life tone. Like much of the series' visual direction, it leans into a clean, bright art style meant to reflect the lighthearted nature of the source material's setting, receiving a modest but appreciative response from the series' core enthusiast community.
