Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Koujou-hen

Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Koujou-hen is a short original video animation released in 2018 as a companion to the main anime series adaptation of Satoru Noda’s manga. The project was produced by Brain's Base and served as a unique promotional tie-in, specifically highlighting the history and architecture of the Sapporo Beer Museum in Hokkaido. Given the series' deep focus on regional history, food culture, and the development of Meiji-era Hokkaido, the collaboration was viewed as a natural thematic extension of the franchise.

The production utilized the distinct character designs established by the series, retaining the adventurous, irreverent tone of the original manga while integrating real-world historical elements of the brewing industry. The short was well-received by fans of the series for its meticulous attention to period-accurate detail and its ability to blend educational museum promotion with the characteristic personality of characters like Saichi Sugimoto and Asirpa, demonstrating the show's ongoing commitment to exploring its Hokkaido setting.
