Where it came from
Good Morning!!! Doronjo was produced in 2015 by the studio ODDJOB as a comedic spin-off series based on the iconic villainess Doronjo from the classic Tatsunoko Production anime Yatterman. The project sought to modernize the character by placing her in a slice-of-life, contemporary Japanese setting, stripping away the traditional high-stakes action of the original franchise in favor of short-form, daily-life sketches.
The series was designed to emphasize a stylized, minimalist aesthetic that contrasted sharply with the vibrant, mechanical designs of the 1977 original. By shifting the focus to Doronjo's mundane personality and relatable domestic struggles, the studio aimed to appeal to both long-time fans of the Time Bokan series and a younger demographic interested in character-driven comedy. It was received as a lighthearted, experimental take on a classic pop-culture figure.
