Bow is a homeless dog, who enjoys his carefree life. This dog is no super-hero. He drools when he's hungry, he wags his tail when he's happy, and he barks when he's excited, just like an ordinary dog but even uglier and stupider! His dumb innocence often leads to disaster. But somehow people are charmed by him. School children, a lonesome cartoonist, and a gangster family all play an important role in Bow's life.
This hilarious comedy is certain to appeal to people of all ages.

Where it came from
Heisei Inu Monogatari Bow debuted in 1993 as a television anime series produced by Nippon Animation. The show was adapted from a popular manga series by Terry Yamamoto, which had been serialized in Shogakukan's CoroCoro Comic since 1989. Centered on the comedic antics of a mischievous miniature schnauzer named Bow and his owner, Sayaka, the series captured the domestic humor of early nineties Japan.
The production utilized the signature lighthearted aesthetic of Nippon Animation, aiming to translate the energetic, slapstick nature of Yamamoto’s original character designs into a format suitable for family broadcast. Upon its release, the series became a notable entry in the 'slice-of-life' pet genre, receiving a positive reception for its whimsical portrayal of human-canine dynamics and cementing the character of Bow as a recognizable mascot of the era.
