High School DxD BorN

High School DxD BorN is the third television anime season adapting the light novel series by Ichiei Ishibumi, produced by studio TNK and released in 2015. It continues the narrative of Issei Hyodo and the Occult Research Club, shifting the focus toward the underworld politics and character development established in the preceding seasons. The production aimed to maintain the series' signature blend of supernatural action, comedy, and heavy fan-service elements, staying closely aligned with the established aesthetic and visual identity developed by the studio for the franchise.

The character designs for the series were managed by Junji Goto, who sought to refine the visual appeal of the protagonists while adapting complex light novel illustrations for animation. Upon its release, the season was met with a polarized reception; while the established fanbase appreciated the continued adaptation of the source material's plot arcs, the series remained a subject of intense critical discussion regarding its heavy reliance on adult-oriented tropes. Despite this, it remains a notable entry in the mid-2010s ecchi genre, solidifying TNK's role in the series' visual history before the transition of production studios for subsequent iterations.
