Himawari Hinata recently transfered to Shinobi Gakuen to train to become the best kunoichi she can be. She wanted to be a ninja ever since she was saved by one when she was little. On her first day, she meets Hayato Madenokoji (a new transfer teacher) who saves her life. Hayato does not possess any ninja skills or traits, he is teaching the ninjas about normal society to pay off his debt. However, Himawari notices that Hayato bares the same mark on his neck as the ninja who saved her when she was young.

Where it came from
Himawari! was produced by Studio ARMS and released in 2006 as a television anime series. It was adapted from the manga series by GoHands, centering on a young girl named Himawari Hinata who aspires to become a ninja. The series emerged during a period when the studio was heavily involved in producing lighthearted action and comedy titles, positioning this work as a colorful, character-driven entry within the genre.
The character design and visual direction for the series aimed for a whimsical, high-energy aesthetic consistent with the mid-2000s trend of vibrant supernatural comedies. While the series did not reach the same level of mainstream critical acclaim as other genre staples of its time, it remains a notable example of Studio ARMS's specific output from that era, reflecting the studio's focus on fluid character animation and lighthearted narrative structures.
