Where it came from
Himawari Too!! was produced by Studio ARMS and released in 2007 as the second season of the Himawari! anime series. It continues the story of a young girl named Himawari who enrolls in a ninja academy, building upon the comedic and action-oriented tone established in the original 2006 series. The production aimed to expand on the character dynamics developed in the inaugural run while maintaining the fast-paced, lighthearted aesthetic that defined the studio's mid-2000s output.
The series design is rooted in the quintessential moe art style prevalent during the period, characterized by expressive character features and vibrant color palettes. Created in the wake of the original series, it was received as a niche addition to the 'ninja school' subgenre of anime. While the show maintains a dedicated following among enthusiasts of 2000s-era television animation, its design choices reflect a commitment to the specific stylistic trends and genre conventions of the time rather than a departure from them.
