Where it came from
Hina Logic: from Luck & Logic was produced by Doga Kobo and aired in 2017 as a spin-off of the Luck & Logic trading card game and anime project. The series was designed to shift the tone of the franchise, focusing on a lighter, more character-driven slice-of-life narrative set at a specialized academy for Logicalists, contrasting with the more action-oriented style of the original 2016 series.
Directed by Hiroaki Akagi, the production leaned into Doga Kobo's established aesthetic for high-energy, cute-focused character animation. While the series was developed to expand the world-building of the Luck & Logic property, it was received as a niche addition to the magical girl and school-life genres, notable primarily for its shift in target demographic and visual direction compared to its predecessor.
