Where it came from
How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? was produced by studio Doga Kobo and aired in 2019 as an adaptation of the manga series written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by MAAM. The series emerged as a unique blend of the slice-of-life and instructional fitness genres, aiming to demystify gym culture and weight training for a mainstream audience by incorporating comedic elements alongside legitimate exercise techniques.
The character designs and animation style were crafted to emphasize both the humorous personality quirks of the cast and the physiological focus of the workout segments.
