Ibaragi-ken Senkyo Keihatsu Anime

The Ibaraki-ken Senkyo Keihatsu anime is a series of short promotional works commissioned by the Ibaraki Prefectural Election Administration Commission. Created to encourage voter turnout among younger demographics, these shorts were developed by Studio PuYUKAI, a production house known for its distinctively simplified, chibi-style character designs that often translate complex or serious topics into approachable, lighthearted narratives.

The animation features a recognizable, minimalist aesthetic intended to bypass the dry, formal nature typically associated with government public service announcements. By utilizing the popular short-form style pioneered by director Minoru Ashina, the project sought to foster a more accessible connection between local governance and the electorate. The series is widely regarded as a practical experiment in using popular entertainment formats to address declining civic engagement at the regional level.
