#I'm Looking For a Zombie

I'm Looking For a Zombie was produced by Studio Comet and released in 2026, emerging during a period when the studio sought to revitalize its portfolio with genre-blending narratives. The series is grounded in the tradition of Japanese supernatural comedy, focusing on the intersection of mundane daily life and the undead. Its production reflects the studio's technical shift toward contemporary digital animation standards while maintaining a character-centric approach to storytelling that prioritizes episodic humor over sprawling plot lines.

The creative direction for the series aimed to subvert standard horror tropes by framing the search for a zombie through the lens of a whimsical personal quest. Designers focused on a high-contrast aesthetic that differentiates the titular creatures from the human cast, emphasizing expressive, somewhat rounded character designs that lean into the show's lighthearted tone. Upon its debut, the series was received as a niche entry in the studio's catalog, noted by critics for its distinct visual identity and its contribution to the sub-genre of comedic horror animation.
