After a life of honesty left him betrayed, Liam is reborn into a vast interstellar empire with one goal: be the galaxy’s worst evil lord. But no matter how hard he tries to be a tyrant, his “wicked” plans keep backfiring into peace, prosperity, and adoring fans. Galactic chaos, magic, and mecha await in this hilariously misconstructed tale of a villain who can’t help but to impress.

Where it came from
I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! is a 2025 television series adaptation produced by Studio Quad. Based on the light novel series by Saihato, the show translates the comedic power fantasy narrative into an animated format, following the protagonist Liam Sera Banfield as he unwittingly gains a reputation as a benevolent ruler while attempting to play the role of a villainous lord.
The character designs and animation direction were handled by the production team at Studio Quad, aiming to balance the lighthearted miscommunications of the source material with the scale of a sprawling space opera. Upon its release, the series garnered attention for its unique take on the 'misunderstood protagonist' trope, fitting into the contemporary anime landscape that favors genre-bending narratives.
