I'm Quitting Heroing: Remember, the Work Trip is First and Foremost a Learning Opportunity

This original video animation was released in 2022 as a tie-in to the I'm Quitting Heroing anime series, which was adapted from the light novel sequence written by Quantum and illustrated by Hana Amano. The project emerged from Kadokawa’s broader initiative to expand the narrative of Leo Demonheart, a legendary hero who finds himself forced into retirement and seeking employment within the ranks of the very Demon King’s army he once defeated. This specific episode was designed to provide a humorous, lighthearted look at the logistical challenges faced by the demon army, specifically focusing on the bureaucratic and cultural hurdles inherent in maintaining a professional organizational structure.

The production maintains the aesthetic and thematic tone established by the television series, focusing on the comedic friction between high-fantasy tropes and modern corporate sensibilities. By framing the narrative as a business-centric learning opportunity, the writers aimed to satirize Japanese work culture through the lens of a fantasy setting. The release was received as a supplemental exploration of character dynamics, aimed primarily at fans of the original light novel series who appreciated the humorous tonal shifts and the deepening of the antagonist's bureaucratic struggles.
