Interspecies Reviewers

Interspecies Reviewers is a Japanese anime television series produced by the studio Passione, which premiered in early 2020. Adapted from the manga series written by Amahara and illustrated by Masha, the narrative follows a group of adventurers who visit various brothels populated by different fantasy species to evaluate the experiences. The work is categorized within the ecchi genre, utilizing a satirical lens to explore tropes common in high fantasy and role-playing games.

The production is notable primarily for the controversy surrounding its broadcast history. Shortly after its initial airing, several major Japanese streaming platforms and television networks dropped the series, citing concerns over its explicit content. This led to a fragmented release schedule and a subsequent surge in interest among niche animation communities, as the series became a case study in the shifting boundaries of broadcast standards for adult-oriented anime.
