Interviews with Monster Girls: The Demi-chans' Summer Break

Interviews with Monster Girls: The Demi-chans' Summer Break is an original net animation released in 2017 as a direct companion to the A-1 Pictures television series. The narrative continues the lighthearted, empathetic exploration of 'demi-humans'—mythological creatures living in modern society—by focusing on the domestic and social experiences of the lead characters during their summer vacation. It serves as a brief but meaningful expansion of the source manga's world, maintaining the series' trademark tone of grounded character development amidst supernatural themes.

The animation was produced by A-1 Pictures to capitalize on the positive reception of the winter 2017 anime adaptation. The creative team aimed to retain the distinctive character designs and gentle humor established by the series director, Ryo Ando. While the original manga remains the primary source material, this ONA allows for a focused, self-contained look at the ensemble cast's interactions, reinforcing the franchise's emphasis on the psychological and social nuances of being different.
